Artist's Background

Marrianne is currently studying the Bachelor of Music at The Conservatorium of Music with Professor Alice Waten. She has previously completed the Diploma in Music (Practical) along with a Bachelor of Science at The University of Melbourne. During her studies, Marrianne performed in the universities’ Symphony Orchestra, String Orchestra, and chamber groups including piano trios, piano quartets, and string quartets. 


Marrianne has played with the Australian Youth Orchestra in the National Music Camp program. She is also a finalist in Sydney Eisteddfod Musica Visa Chamber Music Award. Furthermore, she is the 2018 winner of the Sydney Conservatorium (Con) of Music annual Violin Concerto Competition in which 6 highly skilled violinists competed in. As an added bonus, she received the opportunity to perform her concerto with the Sydney Con Orchestra on the 10th of May 2019 at the Verbruggen Hall at the Con.

Whilst studying, she has taken a keen interest in teaching and brought students through the AMEB exams and Suzuki books. In the future, she hopes to pursue a career as a chamber musician in addition to being a highly esteemed violin teacher.
